If you rent an apartment, house, or townhome, you probably own furnishings, electronic equipment, clothing, a computer, and perhaps jewelry, silver, or other valuable items. Could you afford to replace them in the event of a fire or burglary? With renters insurance, your personal property would be covered. If a friend falls in the course of a visit or your pet takes a bite of the pizza delivery boy, your policy provides liability coverage. Renter's insurance may also cover forgery, unauthorized credit card use, and "loss of use" if a covered loss requires you to leave your home.
Customer service representatives Linda Hottle and Tammy Garland will walk you through the renters insurance process. Just contact them during business hours (8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.) to receive a quote, to get answers to your questions, and to make certain you have adequate coverage for your particular needs.
